HUNGER AND POVERTY
Poverty and hunger are daily realities for many pastoralist families in Samburu. Frequent droughts and lack of economic opportunities make it difficult for families to provide enough food, let alone thrive. Women, who bear the brunt of these challenges, often sacrifice their own needs for their children. Our programs aim to tackle hunger and poverty by providing food relief, sustainable agriculture training, and economic empowerment initiatives. By equipping women with skills and resources, we help them secure a stable income and build a future free from hunger.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, yet many girls in Samburu are denied the chance to attend school due to early marriages, female genital mutilation (FGM), and household responsibilities. Without education, their potential is untapped, and their futures are limited. We believe that every girl deserves an education, which is why we provide access to literacy programs, vocational training, and scholarships for Samburu women and girls. By educating and training them, we empower them to make informed decisions, secure better jobs, and contribute to their communities.

HUMAN RIGHTS
Women, girls, and people with disabilities in Samburu are often denied basic human rights, facing discrimination, gender-based violence, and social exclusion. These violations rob them of dignity and the opportunity to thrive. By advocating for human rights, we work to protect the most vulnerable, ensuring that every individual has access to education, healthcare, and equal opportunities. Our programs aim to raise awareness, combat gender violence, and promote the rights of people with disabilities, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion in Samburu.

ARTS AND CULTURE
The rich arts and cultural traditions of the Samburu people are at risk of being forgotten due to modernization and the lack of resources. Yet, these traditions are integral to the community's identity and cohesion. Promoting arts and culture among women and youth offers them a platform to express themselves, preserve their heritage, and foster unity. Through cultural events, craft training, and art programs, we can help Samburu women generate income and strengthen their connection to their roots while building pride in their identity.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) remains a harmful practice that continues to endanger the lives of girls in Samburu. FGM robs girls of their health, their rights, and their futures. Many girls are forced to drop out of school or enter early marriages as a result of this practice. At [Charity Name], we are working to eliminate FGM by raising awareness in communities, supporting alternative rites of passage, and providing safe spaces for girls at risk. Through education and community dialogue, we are creating a future where no girl in Samburu has to endure the pain of FGM.

Homes for the Disabled
People with disabilities in Samburu face immense discrimination and exclusion, often lacking access to basic services, vocational training, or independent living facilities. Many live in isolation without the support they need to thrive. By building homes for the disabled, we are creating safe, inclusive environments where people with disabilities can live with dignity and independence. These homes provide not just shelter, but access to training, healthcare, and social services, empowering disabled individuals to lead fulfilling lives and participate fully in their communities.

Leadership Training
In Samburu, women and girls are often excluded from leadership roles, limiting their ability to influence decisions that affect their lives and communities. Without female voices in leadership, critical issues such as healthcare, education, and women's rights remain overlooked. Our leadership training programs focus on equipping women and girls with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to become leaders in their families, communities, and beyond. By fostering female leadership, we are ensuring that women’s perspectives are included in decision-making processes, creating more equitable and inclusive communities.

Income Generation
Economic marginalization has left many Samburu women without the means to support themselves or their families. Traditional livelihoods, such as livestock herding, are no longer sufficient due to changing climate conditions. By creating income-generating opportunities, we empower women to become financially independent and improve their families' lives. Our initiatives focus on teaching skills such as beadwork, basket weaving, small business management, and sustainable farming. These programs not only provide a steady income but also give women a sense of pride and confidence.
